ABOUT BELGIAN BEER
Beer is the most typical drink throughout Belgium—in all regions of Valloons and Flemings. There are approximately 750 species of the golden fluid in this “beer powered“ land. Each beer is characterized by a specific taste, such as cherry, apple, ginger, currant, blueberry, strawberry, apricot. The strongest Belgian beer may contain up to 12% alcohol. Selection includes an inexhaustible supply of dark, semi-dark, light or fruit beers.
Due to rich beer history and traditions, Trappist beer, for example, has always been and still is brewed by monks in monasteries. These are top-fermenting, approaching the taste of barley wine and are brewed on the basis of special laws, which only seven monasteries currently are in conpliance with.
